Life can get a little crazy sometimes, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Hawaii Day 1

We were welcomed at the airport by Mele Kalikimaka on the radio and ALOHA on the walls :)

This year my Christmas was very different! Instead of snowy white covered mountains I spent the week with my family where the sun shone by day and the starts shone at night! :D (Recognize that phrase? Mele Kalikimaka!)

We ventured as a family to Oahu  Hawaii! And if you can't enough tell by the picture below it was SPECTACULAR! Best trip of my life so far! It was nice and warm and I honestly don't know if it could be more picturesque. This was the view from right outside the front door fo the condo we stayed in. Such a beautiful view!

I decided it would be easiest to post a blog about each day I was there. I don't ever want to forget the fun we had! :) We started off with a quick trip to Costco! If you know my dad you know he loves that place so it was fitting :) I loved that they had an outdoor food court!!

I love love loved the trees in Hawaii! This one is a Hala tree! Look how cool the roots are!!

Because it was Christmas I HAD to get pictures of anything Christmasy I saw :) My dad considered purchasing this nativity...until he saw the price :)

I don't know why but thought this snow woman was HILAROUS!! I'm still sad I didn't purchase it! I thought for sure I would see more. I think maybe it was just seeing sand instead of snow. I don't know, but ya so funny!

We then ventured over to Pearl  Harbor to see if we could go over to the Arizona Memorial that day! We got so so so lucky when a nice man asked how many people were in our party and proceeded to give us 4 free tickets! It was a somber site. Below is the flag on the memorial. Half-mast because of the massacre in Connecticut.

In the 30 minute video prior to boarding the ferry we learned that oil has bubbled up from the ship since the day it sunk, and will continue to bubble for the next 50 or so years.

This is part of the ship that is out of the water. The majority of it lies below sees. The final resting place for so may people. There are crewmen who survived the attacks. Many of them choose to have their remains placed back in the ship so they will remain with their crew.

The ship is now becoming covered with coral and is home to thousands of fish! See if you can spot any in this picture.

A little pix from the Ferry on our way back! :D I spent my week with these goons! Sure love them! Gotta love my sunglasses! :D (haha my family does not!)

After the memorial we decided to board the submarine they also have in the harbor. It was quite the experience! I could NEVER live in such tight quarters for so long!!

After grabbing some sandwiches for dinner we headed to Kailua Bay to eat our food and watch the sunset. This beach quickly became our favorite beach! It was the perfect way to end our first day!
