It was awkward to say the least. I'll probably use that descriptive word multiple times over the course of this blog, because it just was awkward. :)
Let me start off by saying I am not very experienced in the dating world, so I was a little nervous and already feeling like this blind date was going to be awkward. (oh and I guess it wasn't a true blind date...I had seen my date for like 5 minutes at the FHE mentioned in the previous post.) I went to my friends apartment and our dates met us there. It ended up being just the four of us because the third person in our party had something come up. The plan was for us to go bowling.
We got in the car "the green bean," which I need to add only had two doors so my date and I got to crawl in, not so bad, but like I said earlier, awkward. In my mind the drive from Springville to Orem had never been so long! I was super uncomfortable, and conversation did not come easy. I asked a lot of questions...
When we got to the bowling alley my friend and I stood back while our dates paid and then got our shoes. We then got our lane, input our names and got started. One of the boys was a pretty good bowler. The other wasn't great, but he did his best. I'm not a bad bowler and neither was my friend, but we definitely weren't great either! haha. Despite the awkward start I had a lot of fun on the date. I like bowling and I felt like I was just there with friends having fun. I guess that is what dating is supposed to feel like. I don't really know.
When the date was over we headed back to my friends apartment. The drive home didn't feel quite as long as the drive there. When we arrived my friend realized she had left her keys inside...in my mind a perfect ending to the date...hahaha. My friend tried to contact her roommate who we hoped was inside while I talked to the boys. It look like 15 minutes to get a hold of the roommate, but luckily she came and opened the door.
After we got inside we had delicious mango smoothies and girl talked until late into the night. Overall the date reminded me what dating was supposed to be about, and I am glad I went. The whole concept of dating doesn't seem as "scary" as it did before.
P.S. For sake of time this may be the condensed version of the story. If you want the full story feel free to ask. :)
