American Idol

Now I'm sure all of you that read this blog are familiar with the fact that I LOVE AMERICAN IDOL!! Ever since the fourth season I have been a dedicated fan! I will never forget the moment that Carrie Underwood was crowned. The person I want to win, never wins so I was quite excited when she did! I never thought that another season of American Idol could compare to that season, that is until we met that 16 year old boy from Murry, Utah. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you are seriously living under a rock. :) For those of you that missed his monumental audition I've included a video. If you're ever bored and want to watch some good entertainment just search him name on youtube, and you will find some fantastic videos to fill your time with.

I've shamelessly promoted him since the release of his album on this site, but that is not my reason for posting a blog today. On January 13 the 8th season of American Idol began. I was extremely excited! They had been promoting that American Idol was making some major changes, a new judge (who is fantastic), bring back the wild card night, and I had even heard that they were going to focus more on the good singers. However when the time came for the show to start it seemed like nothing, besides another judge, had changed. I watched the entire two hours, and despite seeing some pretty good singers I was left disappointed. Not one contestant even compared to the magic and soul that David Archuleta brought to the show. So I went to bed hoping that the next nights show would have someone that could bring some of that back. The singers were definitely better, and there were a couple that I liked, but no one had that power. Last season was filled with AMAZING singers. Brooke White, Carley Smithson, Kristy Lee Cook, Michael Johns, David Cook, and of course David Archuleta. I have a feeling that this season will be a let down. I am still holding out hope though that somehow they will be able to come up with another fantastic top 10 so I will have a desire to go to the tour again. Who knows....I will have to keep you all updated. I will also continute to post my favorite performances from the season, and if there doesn't happen to be one that will, I might just give you a nice flashback to the amazing season 7. Where those that were lucky enough to watch got to witness the soul of David Archuleta.
